Welcome, my CryptoComics Compatriots! Looks like Polygon just ate its spinach and powered up because MATIC is no more—it’s been replaced by something bigger, stronger, and (hopefully) better: POL.
If you’re wondering what that means for you and your CryptoComics experience, don’t worry. I’m here to break it all down in a way that makes sense, no crypto degree required.
First things first: If you’ve been using MATIC for transactions on the Polygon network, you don’t need to panic. Your MATIC didn’t disappear; it just evolved into POL at a 1:1 ratio.
If you had 100 MATIC before the switch, you now have 100 POL. Nothing extra to do, nothing lost—just a new name and some upgraded functionality behind the scenes.
The upgrade from MATIC to POL is part of a bigger plan to expand the network’s capabilities. POL is designed to improve security, make staking more efficient, and help Polygon scale for the future.
If you’re deep into blockchain tech, you’ll hear a lot of talk about “multi-chain validation” and “enhanced governance.” But if you’re just here to collect comics, buy, sell, and trade, the key takeaway is simple: Polygon is working to make transactions smoother, cheaper, and more future-proof.
Since we use the Polygon network for transactions, this upgrade is part of our world too. The good news is that nothing changes in how you use the marketplace. Buying and selling digital collectibles will work just like before. If you had MATIC in your wallet, it’s now POL, and it functions the same way.
The transition happened automatically for most users, but if you were holding MATIC on the Ethereum network instead of Polygon, you might need to manually swap it to POL using a migration tool.
At the end of the day, this upgrade is meant to make Polygon better, which means CryptoComics users get a more reliable and future-ready platform. If you want to dig deeper, check out Polygon’s official announcement for all the technical details.
Otherwise, just keep enjoying the ride and know that the CryptoComics Marketplace is keeping up with all the latest developments so you don’t have to stress about it.
If you’ve got questions about the switch from MATIC to POL, drop a comment below or jump into our Discord channel where we can really get into the nitty-gritty. Whether you want a simple answer or a full deep dive into the technical side of things, we’re here for it. Let’s talk!
