If you Vigilantes are anything like me, you're already going stir crazy due to a forced lockdown from the covid-19. I already listened to 3 audio books, read about 70 comics to my kids, and super cleaned my house (including scrubbing the walls). I even began drawing a redesigned Green Arrow costume based on Assassins Creed.
My wife is already mad at me for suggesting “sacrificing a virgin to the volcano gods”. I don’t think she would have been that mad, except I suggested our kids be the ones that we sacrifice. I still don’t see what she’s so mad at.
Well, when I woke up this morning, there was a strange text from a mysterious unknown benefactor. Ok, it was a text from my wife telling me about a new comic convention. Instantly, I started to complain about being stuck in the house and not being able to attend any more conventions this current season.
As I was mid sentence, something caught my eye.
To my surprise, the name of the convention was the “Stay Home Comic Con”. Brillant! In this crazy age we are living in, how perfect is this!?! Sponsored by Stripmaker Des Vanderlands, Strip Glossy, Dutch Lines, and Syndikaat, this is the holy grail type answer that we have been looking for!
A virtual Comic Convention!!! You don’t even have to leave your home. They are offering some of the same experiences as the regular conventions; Artist Alley, Cosplay Contest, the works.
Finally a comic convention that I don’t even have to wear pants to.
The artists that are organizing the event are collaborating on a piece of art that they will be auctioned at the end! This idea is brilliant. I would love to see how they are going to do this collectively in a digital world and what the piece would be.
There is a contest running for cosplayers. The entry is currently full. Don’t let that stop you! As you attend, you can still gear up in your favorite cosplay outfits and strut your stuff from the comfort of your own home.
With over 200 tables booked, there will be plenty of artists out there all with online booths. There will even be links to their social account so we can keep in contact with our favorite creators. Follow them, love them, talk to them...we all need to keep connected in this hard time.
Yep, their setting up virtual tables for vendors. Now you can stroll through the the elaborate vendors without working up a hunger and being forced to by a $10 slice of pizza.I’m still not entirely sure if there will be a single account where you can add things to your cart or if each vendor will have their own payment process and act as a multiple virtual stores.
Because I didn’t find out about this until it was too late, I am only going as a fan. Artist Alley and the convention floor was already booked up, so I will have to wait until either a spot opens up or next year to have a booth.
This is the perfect event for the CryptoComics Marketplace due to the fact that we are THE online comic platform. It makes so much sense for us to attend, I’m surprised we didn’t think of it first.
I still want to take the time to give a special shout out to the Norwegian Wonders putting on this great event that we can still attend.
Get your tickets now because the convention is March 28th through the 29th. This will be happening in the middle of the world wide quarantine, so I hope to see you there. The where should be obvious from this post already but if you are still not sure, it's at your home! I’m still not sure on the times yet but I will keep all of you updated via our Facebook feed. Make sure you keep an eye on that.
To learn more about it or to get your ticket, click the link below. Before you go, get yourself signed up and get your invites ready by going to cryptocomics.com and take advantage of the Comic Bucks Program.
