We had a great time talking with Jesse "Cadre" Hansen from Cornerstone Creative Studios. Experiences, insights, advice, and what would a CryptoComics live stream be without some technical difficulties? Watch the interview, or read some of the highlights from Jesse. CC:  Can you tell us a little about yourself?

JH:  I’m Jesse “Cadre” Hansen and I am not only the founder/CEO and fellow member but also represent a studio of talented and experienced sequential artists.  We have well over 40 years of experience and professional credits under our collective belts.  We’ve worked with comic book and gaming companies large and small including Marvel, DC, Image, Disney, Games Workshop, Capcom, Blizzard, Wizards of the Coast and many more.  Over the years we’ve have seen and done just about everything there is to do in the comic book industry.

We are Cornerstone Creative Studios.

All that being said, a bit about me personally…

I have been published in over 90 comics, magazines, gaming project and periodicals including Cracked Magazine as well as being a professional Commercial Artist since 1994.

CC:  Do you have any formal training or are you self-taught?

JH:  Yes to both

CC:  Describe your style.

JH:  Embellisher and sponge of all techniques.

CC:  What would you say most motivates you to do what you do?

To create and learn as well as hoping to inspire others...

CC:  Are you inspired by any particular works or creators?

Too many to list here.

CC:  Do you work with others? If so, tell us about them.

I am the founder and CEO of Cornerstone Creative Studios... with over 113 studio members with everything from writers to letterers and all between.

CC:  What creation are you most proud of?

JH:  My son.

[Awwww]

CC:  Can you tell me about your current project?

JH:  We're creating our own universe and working to impact the world in a positive way.

CC:  What passions do you have outside of comics?

JH:  Faith and Family

CC:  Do you have any thoughts about the comic book industry?

JH:  Time for a change and time that comics mean something other than making a buck.

CC:  Do you have any advice for anyone that is just joining the industry for the first time, or looking to join the industry?

JH:  Be confident, not cocky... "There is a difference between critique and criticism, it's up to us as artists to know the difference and apply them."

CC:  Anything you would like to add?

JH:  Anything to add? Sure... I'd like to add that it's time for change in comics, time for the stories to have a real moral compass and meaning behind them... something to really help our youth, young adults and even older adults get something out of them while ALSO being entertained without feeling guilt or anything but to feel added purpose and understanding.
