Going stir crazy? Yeah, me too.

Welcome, my CryptoComic Compatriots! I don’t know about you but I am dying to get out of the house. It seems like it has been months since we were able to just leave and wander around town. For many of you, your city might look like a ghost town.

This, of course, is assuming that your town hasn’t had it’s fair share of protest and civil unrest.

I just wanted to touch base with you and let you know that we are still in this together. Someday, the stay at home order will have been a distant memory. I don’t know, but I think that the Corona Virus has been embedded into our collective psyche.

If you’re like me, this is killing you. I’m a very sociable person, or so I like to think. I hate being cooped up in the house. My wife is even worse. Before all this started, she couldn’t even handle a 3 day weekend without getting cabin fever.

Tempers might flare, comics get delayed, you forgot your mask at home when heading to the store for a beer. Don’t freak out, there are still some things you can do at home.

It looks like a few people already found something to do at home. Condom sales have skyrocketed. In fact, many manufacturers can’t seem to keep up with the demand. I bet this could lead to another baby boom in a few more months.

READ AND TAKE YOUR MIND FAR FROM REALITY

I love to read, so CryptoComics has been a godsend. I read for about 3-4 hours per day. Sometimes to my kids, sometimes just for me.

Drawing has been another lifesaver. I love to draw, but I have gotten so much better since COVID due to the fact that I have nothing but time. I follow every tutorial I can get my hands on as well as I have an account with skillshare.

I even have been writing some of my own tutorials with some tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way. Check out more of the blog for those. They’re sprinkled in between opinion and news.

TAKE THE TIME TO IMPROVE YOUR MIND

My neighbors have taken isolation to the extreme. They both signed up for online classes and both got their Masters in Business Management. Yeah, a Masters since November. How crazy is that? I’m happy if I finish a tutorial, they go get a Masters Degree.

There are so many sites out there such as Linkedin Learning, Skillshare, YouTube, and so much more that will teach you how to better yourself. A stronger mind means better ideas, higher skill level, and better overall stories (assuming you submit your comic to the marketplace.

If you don’t want to take the easy route, go get an online degree. I highly recommend the Art Institute only because that’s where I went.

TAKE THE TIME TO IMPROVE YOUR OWN HEALTH

Today I went for a walk. I just started walking until I got to the end of the street. I picked a direction at random and just kept walking. I eventually ended up about 4.8 miles away from my house (google maps) and then started walking home. I made sure that I didn’t take the same route home in order to just see what’s still out there.

I love the fact that I live in a small town. Many people I knew passed, each honking and waving. Many stopped and asked me if I needed a ride home. I declined and just kept walking. It’s not often that I can get out of the house without the need for a mask.

Others have taken exercising to the extreme. I’ve seen people build their own home gyms and start to get buff. Bravo to them. I figure that when the pandemic finishes with us, we will emerge from our holes either; a hunk, chunk, a monk, or a drunk.

I, myself, have already started to lose a little weight. During an embarrassing video with both Frey & Jared, a girl gets on there and chats that Frey & Jared are both sexy. Frey asks “What about Matt?” and all you could hear was crickets. I knew right then and there that I had to make a change.

I’m only down 13 lbs, but its progress. My goal is to get to at least 200 before I start putting on strictly muscle. I will do that by trying the 300 challenge. It could take about 10 more years to get to that point, but its a goal.

WHAT I WANT TO CONVEY TO YOU ALL

My message today, is that we are all in this together. Take this time to improve yourself and don’t get caught up in the negativity of the world. Stay positive, and know that it will all get better...someday.
